3DCOILCUBE PRECISION MOTION TRACKING

Premo developed the 3D coil concept 20 years ago, which is now used in some of the world’s most advanced VR devices driving innovation and technological advances for medical, industrial and leisure (gaming) applications.

The 3DCoilCube™ uses a 3D emitter antenna generating electromagnetic fields of various wavelengths to deliver unmatched precision of 0.001m for the smallest, slowest movements for optimum motion tracking.

Electromagnetic motion tracking systems work by using a low frequency isotropic magnetic field generator (3D emitter) and one or several isotropic 3D magnetic sensors. Emitter and receiver sides need special 3D magnetic coils to generate and receive the magnetic field signals.

PREMO is a world leader in designing and manufacturing these electromagnetic 3D coils, producing more than 30 million units per year. 3DCoilCubes™ and 3DCoils™ can be embedded inside any kind of enclosure or housing. As they’re not made with ferromagnetic materials and don’t require line of sight, they track position and orientation seamlessly, due to the long wavelength and low field signal needed. Even completely covered, they still perform in challenging paramagnetic and diamagnetic environments.

Key Advantages of Electromagnetic Motion Tracking:

  • HIGH ACCURACY PARAMETERS ( L & Q )

  • SMD AND THT FOOTPRINTS

  • FULLY ISOTROPIC

  • ASSURANCE OF ORTHOGONALITY (DUE TO SPECIAL WINDING-WINDOW DESIGN)

  • VERY HIGH REPEATABILITY (CPK > 1.9)

  • AUTOMATIC MASS PRODUCTION CAPABILITY

  • AUTOMATIC EOL TEST CAPABILITY
